The Iridium Satellite phone supports 160 characters in a single message. For a low per-message fee and no additional activation or monthly access fees, Infosat's SMS Service allows you to stay in touch around the world. Subscribers only pay for messages they send from the handset, incoming messages are free of charge. Note*: SMS service is equipment-dependent.  The Iridium 9505A and the Iridium 9555 support both incoming and outgoing text messages while previous models 9500 and 9505 do not.
